‘In 1999, A. Lange & Söhne introduced the Datograph which was powered by the caliber L951.1. movement and this is one of the First Generation examples’
– Paul Maudsley

The now iconic Lange & Söhne Datograph chronograph model was a game-changer in the horological world and an impressive achievement for a German watchmaker. The watch has the A. Lange & Söhne signature large date aperture at 12 and two subsidiary dials with unmistakable symmetry. Inside this stunning 39mm platinum case is the truly incredible manually wound, in-house chronograph movement, known as the calibre L951.1 which has 402 parts.
It is truly one of the finest looking and finished movements by any watchmaker. This is an early example of the Datograph, as evidenced by the “METER” signature found on the tachymeter. In later examples it changes to “METERS” and this is around 2005-2006. This wonderful Ref:403.035 has just had a gentle expert polish and is now in excellent condition and it comes with its original box, outer card case, instruction booklet, guarantee card showing its sale in 2003.

- the mark on the glass at the 10 o’clock marker was dust. I didn’t spot when I shot.
