” This particular reference was produced between 1970 and 1974 and had the Movement number range of 30.59x.xxx to 32.857.xxx. “
– Paul Maudsley

The post-Moon landing version of the 145.022-69 reference differs from the pre-Moon in having a caseback proclaiming its status: The first watch worn on the Moon and this one is named ‘Straight Writing’ by the collecting community, meaning that some of the script is laid out straight in contrast with the succeeding models in which the whole text is arranged in an arc around the central medallion. Models are all fitted with a 861 caliber manual wind chronograph. The Speedmaster is a legendary and iconic watch with more variations and sub variations than any other model I know, but this period is always a favourite of mine and in its 54th year and still looking and running well.
Sold with its original booklet from Walker and Hall of Nottingham, England. Also with its wallet, fitted box and swing tag (not numbered) and an Omega Extract of Archives showing this actual watch in the Omega registers with an original sale date of April the 23rd 1971. A great purchase for the new or seasoned collector.
£4,850.
