A wonderful Rolex GMT-Master Ref: 1675. The Mark 1 or “Long E” dial the nickname for this dial and that comes from the middle bar of the E in Rolex, which is much longer than on other variations and is unique to this dial. The serial number range for the Mark 1 Matt dials is between 16xxxxx-29xxxxx. The inside case back of this watch is stamped for 1970.
Presented in an attractive condition with a fantastic dial and even more fantastic faded insert, this GMT-Master has been enjoyed over the last 53 years by the same family and its particularly nice to find one with its original bill of sale, this from Gowland Brothers of 48 Cornell, London, showing a sale date of the 3rd August 1971 and a further Rolex Service receipt from 1977.
